Overview

The inventory tree structure, folder names, folder icons, and more are customizable in your Flex system. Read on to learn how to add, edit and delete the folders of your inventory structure. 

Opening the "Inventory Tree Configuration" Window

You can not edit your inventory tree directly in the tree but instead, you need to open the "Inventory Tree Configuration" window into the main workbench screen. To do this:

1. Click the  Inventory button in the left-hand Resource Browser.
2. Click the  Configure icon.

Adding Inventory Tree Groups

To add a top-level (parent) group to your Inventory Tree:

1. Click the  Inventory button in the left-hand Resource Browser.
2. Click the  Configure icon.
3. Click the  Add New Group icon on the bottom left of the tab.
4. Enter the Name.
5. (Optional) Select  Search to open the Icon Selection window.
6. (Optional) Search or Browse and select an Icon for your new group and click OK.
7. Click ADD.
   

To add a child group to your Inventory Tree:

1. Click the  Inventory button in the left-hand Resource Browser.
2. Click the  Configure icon.
3. Browse to the Group that you want to be the parent of this new group.
4. Hover over the folder and select the   Options Menu (see below) and select Add Child Group.
5. Enter the Name.
6. (Optional) Select  Search to open the Icon Selection window.
7. (Optional) Search or Browse and select an Icon then click OK.
8. Click ADD.

Editing Inventory Tree Group Settings

1. Click the  Inventory button in the left-hand Resource Browser.
2. Click the  Configure icon.
3. Double-click on the Inventory Group that you want to edit.
4. Edit the Inventory Group information.
   • Name: The name of the Inventory Group
   • Icon:  The icon used to represent the group.  Will be a folder image if nothing is selected.
   • View Groups:  This will put a restriction on who can browse to this Inventory Group. By default, no security groups are selected which will create no restrictions.
   • Management Group: For reference purposes. 
5. Click OK.

Deleting Inventory Tree Groups

To delete a group from your Inventory Tree:

1. Click the  Inventory button in the left-hand Resource Browser.
2. Click the  Configure icon.
3. Click the   Options Menu for the group you want to delete and select  Delete Group.
4. Click Yes.
